| Located in beautiful Langley, British Columbia, Canada, our business Country Rose Soap Co. Ltd., takes its name from our 150 shrub rose collection. Most of the flowers and herbs grown organically in the gardens find their way into one of our handmade soaps, handmade herbal bath or beauty products.

Our rich and diverse gardens boasts a large rose collection, lush perennial borders, numerous shade gardens, huge vegetable garden, fruit trees, berries, rows of annuals and herbs, 200 potted containers and hanging baskets, a water feature and a thriving collection of orchids, tropical plants and vines. This exuberant and fragrant collection comprises the raw materials for our diverse line of quality, handcrafted, natural herbal soaps, bath and beauty products. |
| We started to make handmade soap as a way to enjoy the harvest of our country garden. At more than an acre in size it is a colourful, fragrant oasis in a rural area dominated by nurseries, strawberry and blueberry farms. Dozens of large specimen trees, flowering shrubs and mature hedges compete the framework of our rich and diverse seasonal tapestry that we create each year. |

| As strong believers of organic gardening principles we compost kitchen and garden waste and collect rainwater to make a ‘compost tea’ for fertilizing the extensive gardens. The flowers and herbs are completely safe to use in the various handmade soap, herbal bath and beauty products and as a bonus we attract loads of bees, birds and butterflies. |  |
| In late winter we sow our annual, herb and vegetable seeds in a heated greenhouse that is also used to over winter tender fuchsias, begonias, scented geraniums, bougainvilleas, dipladenias, jasmine and orchids. |  |

In the spring the hanging baskets and containers are potted up using our own organic compost and then moved to our large greenhouse awaiting the last frost before being moved to their summer location. |
| When summer arrives it is time to begin the harvest that will provide ingredients for our business. We dry everything ourselves in a large homemade dehydrator or hung in our drying shed. The herbs and flowers are then infused into oils and tinctures which will be used to create our handmade soap, creams, lotions, lip balms, salves, hair butters, bath and massage oils, bath salts and more. Scented rose petals are used in almost all of our products. Some are infused into oil, others into vinegars for herbal hair rinses and shampoos. Others are added to face scrubs, soap, bath sizzlers, and salts. Lavender, chamomile, calendula petals plus many more herbs are infused into oils for creams, lotions, etc. |
